I’ve read Jonathan Livingston Seagull and thought it was great. With you being such a big blogger I’d expect you’ve already heard of the website good reads. I know when I start running out of reading ideas I usually head there for some inspiration.

I wholeheartedly agree re: Pratchett. Just a small correction: Rincewind isn’t in Hogfather, he’s in The Color of Magic, the most recent video Pratchett to air on US television. David Jason was in both, but he played Albert in Hogfather. The report is, work is beginning on the next Pratchett tv-movie, Going Postal.

No mention of Slither? I think of it as being one of the coolest horror movies in the last 10 years or so… but maybe you wouldn’t think of it as a horror movie. Have you seen it?

To be honest, very little. Apart from the Sci-Fi channel’s Primeval and Adult Swim (Robot Chicken et al) there’s nothing else worth watching – to me at least. Oh… I forgot. The BBC news on PBS. It’s the only true news coverage on US TV. Other than that, Netflix rules.

I should have added that lack of knowledge is not the same as ignorance. The US deliberately keeps its citizens in the dark about the rest of the world – unless, of course, there’s something scary enough, or there’s enough people dead to warrant including it as a news item. In which case their motive is the usual scare them into buying stuff ploy.

Most Americans would be totally gobsmacked at the standard of living (and health care of course) enjoyed elsewhere in the world. Not to mention how much better a citizen’s (or worker’s) rights are. And that without any “constitution” at all.
